I have read through each of these truths from Piper and I realize these are so true in my life ...so why do I find time for so many other things to do rather than have my faith awakened, my sin/Satans presence in my life revealed and freed from it/him. It is true that when I am steadfast in the Word God provides these blessings...and yet there are many times when it is a struggle to lay aside the pleasures and works of this world and turn to the source of joy, salvation and freedom. Satan knows where he wants our hearts to be.
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. (Jam 4:7-10)
