Starting Points - Lesson 2

THE GOSPEL

The ‘gospel’ is the good news that through Christ the power of God’s kingdom has entered history to renew the whole world. When we believe and rely on Jesus’ Person and work (rather than ours) for our relationship to God, that kingdom power comes upon us and begins to work through us.

You will find the audio for lesson 2 in the Starting Points folder in the audio player. You will want to play “Lord of the Wine” which is a lesson taught by Tim Keller. We would like to thank Redeemer Presbyterian Church for making these lessons available. This message will discuss Jesus’ first sign which he performed at a wedding. Jesus did not just do a miracle - but He was making a symbolic statement about Himself and the Gospel.

A set of notes called “Lord of the Wine” is provided for this second lesson and can be opened in a pdf file by clicking on the link below. These notes were written by Murray McLellan when he was teaching through the Gospel according to John. (Murray’s complete commentary notes on the book of John can be found on our notes and articles page HERE.)

Please leave a comment when you have finished the lesson. E-mail Murray, if you have any questions.
