The Reason for Our Creation
Willingdon Church in Burnaby, BC was host to the Re-focus - a theology conference, this past weekend. One of the keynote teachers was John Piper. The first thing that struck me about this video clip was the pastor’s prayer when he prayed for John Piper He sounds like a man who embraces the sovereignty of God!! That was so cool to hear, and I found myself encouraged that there are “others out there”…
Anyway, the video was excellent-and John Piper brings home excellent truths.Oh to be so God centered that I would take every part of my day and examine it and accept it knowing that this is for GODS GLORY!!!
He has done all things for His name’s sake. And I am glad for it!

Interesting to note that he isn’t exactly preaching to the choir… he knows there is resistance in the audience - I can imagine the stunned or irritated or simply blank faces looking back at him. But on the other hand, I’m sure there were those there who were looking from him, to their bibles, and back again with eyes brighter than they had been in years - mulling over this very DEEP truth, and the implications of it. I’m thankful that God has seen fit to open my eyes to the truth that nothing is out of his control - and allowed me to be joyful in it although I do not (nor can I) understand how it all works - God says it does, and because I know His character, I believe Him. Amen!
We ate supper in front of the computer last night - a change for us as we don’t even eat in front of the TV!But it was both profitable and encouraging - thanks for the link - this is Kendall, by the way. :)
