Total Church Conference - main sessions
Here is a listing of the main sessions for the conference Sammy and I are attending in August. We’d still love to have one or two others join us. I am listing the topics so you can see how absolutely core this conference hits to our identity in Christ - our very purpose for being redeemed and for living. Be radical - come with us. There is also 3 different streams of “breakout sessions” to get more specific needs for specific church planting situations. These will be posted soon.
Main Sessions
Day One
1. A community-centred gospel (Steve)
The gospel is not simply the story of God saving me, but the story of God saving a new community and renewing creation.
2. A gospel-centred community (Steve)
Church is not an institution or a building, but a community of people united by the gospel sharing their lives together.
Day Two
3. Rethinking attractional church (Tim)
Sometimes missional and attractional are portrayed as opposite choices. Sometimes NT missiology is portrayed as centrifugal in contrast to a centripetal OT missiology. But biblical mission is always attractional and centripetal. What changes in the NT is the centre! We attract people to gospel community and litter gospel communities across the world.
4. Remodelling attractional church (Steve)
Attractional church is not about getting people to come to meetings, but sharing lives and introducing people to the Christian community (the rope model). Mission through ordinary life with gospel intentionality.
Day Three
5. Making disciples for missional church (Tim)
Every Christian is a church planter. We need people with missional DNA living lives shaped by the cross and resurrection.
6. Making disciples in missional church (Tim)
Pastoring one another with the gospel in community. Pastoring one another in ordinary life with gospel intentionality.

Okay. Fine. If you say so. But only if the man gives me my passport.
Which if anyone reads this, please pray for me to get my passport. I applied July 21st and it takes two weeks at best to be processed and arrived. I have already booked my flight, which is unfortunately not with Murray or Sammy, and I will not get my Peso’s back if I do not receive my passport. The flight leaves August 11th. Plus, we are away from the 5th to the 10th of August for a wedding. Oi.
So I have left this case in God’s hands knowing that if anyone is capable, He alone is capable. He has really big, strong hands (even bigger than Larry’s). Look at the size of the mountains for proof!
